If you provide advice, coaching, or professional services, general liability isn't enough. Here's what Errors & Omissions coverage does and why you likely need it.
Professional liability insurance — also called Errors & Omissions (E&O) — protects you when a client claims your work, advice, or services caused them financial harm. General liability covers physical accidents. This covers the work itself.

Coaches, consultants, financial advisors, marketing professionals, designers, therapists, healthcare providers, real estate agents, and anyone else whose clients pay for their knowledge or services. If a client can claim that something you said, recommended, or created caused them harm — you need this coverage.
General liability covers physical accidents. Professional liability covers the work itself. A client who trips in your office is a general liability claim. A client who says your business strategy advice cost them $50,000 is a professional liability claim. Many business owners need both — and we'll help you figure out which applies to you.
Legal defense costs (which can run into the tens of thousands even for frivolous claims), settlements, and judgments — up to your policy limit. Some policies also cover the cost of responding to regulatory investigations. Having this coverage means a single unhappy client doesn't derail your entire business.
